Windows Xp Sp2 Pro Full External Hd/usb Drive Version

Hello guys.. this is my first upload

Presenting…:

Bootable Windows XP Professional SP2 full ISO, only slightly modified to allow installing to an external hard drive or USB device. Successfully tested by me on a SATA 2 laptop drive i have in an enclosure. So now i can run XP from my external with all features just as if it were installed on my internal HD, nothing removed*.

*Known issues:

-Hibernate doesn’t work in this version
-You may get a virtual memory warning, ignore
-For some reason, after i installed the SATA drivers to allow it to see my internal laptop HDD, shutdown/restart processes got weird. It goes through all the motions, but doesn’t actually shutdown, just leaves an empty desktop view of the wallpaper. There is no spinning from the external drive, but the lights are on as it is still connected. It was shutting down and restarting perfectly before I installed the SATA drivers for my laptop HDD, so this may not become an issue for other ppl.

Note.. removing the USB drive/external HDD while using XP from it will result in instant BSOD.. recall, you’re running the OS from the external after all.. just using the resources of what it is plugged into.

I decided to modify the ISO because of all the WinXP versions I could find, none offered a FULL install of XP to my external just as i could my internal HDD, I decided to share cause.. sharing is caring .

2. Remote Recover
To repair an unbootable system via the network, choose Remote Recover. Remote Recover lets you use your network to access the disk drives on a remote machine exactly as if they were installed on your own system. You can boot a damaged system via CD, diskette or PXE-downloaded image, then access its drives remotely from your host Windows 2000, XP, or Server 2003 system.
